The Taj Mahal is one of the most iconic and recognizable structures in the world, located in the city of Agra in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is a mausoleum that was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died in 1631. The Taj Mahal is considered one of the greatest examples of Mughal architecture, which is a fusion of Islamic, Persian, and Indian architectural styles.

Construction of the Taj Mahal began in 1632 and took over 20 years to complete. The building is constructed primarily of white marble and is adorned with intricate carvings and beautiful inlaid work using precious stones such as diamonds, rubies, and emeralds. The central dome of the Taj Mahal is 240 feet high and is surrounded by four smaller domes and four towering minarets.

I had the opportunity to visit the Taj Mahal in 2002, and it truly lives up to its reputation as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The sheer magnificence of its beauty cannot be fully appreciated through photos or videos alone; one must experience it in person to grasp its true grandeur.
