Agra Fort

The Agra Fort is located in the city of Agra in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. The Fort is also called the 'Lal-Quila' or the 'Fort Rouge' or the 'Qila-i-Akbari'. Agra was the capital city of the Mughal Empire in medieval India. 

The Agra Fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that delights visitors owing to its extraordinary architecture. The Fort is constructed in red sandstone and was the administrative center of the Mughal Empire. The Fort is famous for its Sheesh Mahal, which is a must visit for tourists. A lighted candle produces dazzling effect when viewed through the many reflections produced by the mirror studded walls. The Diwan-i-Aamis a beautiful structure and served as the Hall of the Public Audience. The Fort can rightly be called a 'Walled City' and once served as the chief residence of the Mughal. The Fort is located on the bank of the Yamuna River. 

You need to pay entry fee to visit this fort. There is also a fee associated with video recording should you wish to film your memories and take them back home. The Agra Fort is indeed a monument par excellence!
