Bardhaman Zoo & Forest

The Bardhaman Zoological Park is also called Ramnabagan Mini Zoo. It was set up in 1981 and has been carved out of the Ramnabagan Wildlife Sanctuary. The land was once in possession of the Maharaja and Rajas of Bardhaman. The Zoological Park was established with an objective of conserving the species of wild animals, which represented the Gangetic plains and to also create awareness amongst the masses for the conservation of species. There are several mammal species, birds, and reptiles in the Zoo. Situated near the Zoo is the Garh Jungle, the Sarbamangala Temple, Science Centre, Meghnad Saha Planetarium, etc.
