The Jantar Mantar is one of the most iconic strutures in the city of Jaipur, Rajasthan in India. It was built by Sawai Jai Singh II. The Jantar Mantar is a World Heritage Site and is situated near the Hawa Mahal and the City Palace. The Jantar Mantar has the largest sundial made of stone in the world.

The Jantar Mantar is an observatory that houses 19 instruments, which are used to measure time and to predict eclipses, also to track the location of stars when the earth revolves around the sun. Some of the famous instruments are Chakra Yantra, Dakshin Bhitti Yantra, Disha Yantra, Jai Prakash Yantra, Samrat Yantra etc. The Yantra Raj Yantra is the largest in the world and is used only once in the year to calculate the Hindu calendar.
