The Birla Industrial and Technological Museum was founded in 1959 with the aim of popularizing science. It is situated in the city of Kolkata in West Bengal. The museum collects, preserves, and restores the artefacts of historical importance. The Museum also the narrates the story of the growth of technology and science, thus spreading awareness about science and technology in cities as well as villages. The Birla Industrial and Technological Museum also provides assistance to the universities, colleges, and schools to help raise awareness towards science and scientific knowledge. 3D Shows are also organized for visitors at the Museum. The Birla Industrial and Technological Museum along with its art galleries is considered one of India's most prominent museums and knowledge spaces.
