The City Palace of Udaipur is a beautiful palace complex, which is built in the city of Udaipur in the Indian state of Rajasthan. The palace is built in the Rajput style of architecture and is situated on the bank of the Lake Pichola.

Not to be missed is the spectacular 360-degree view of the city as the palace is built on the top of a Hill. It was constructed by Maharana Udai Singh II. The palace is made in Granite and Marble. The palace interiors are adorned with beautiful mirror work, mural art, silver work, and exquisite wall paintings. The various palaces are linked together through quadrangles. It is said that such design was chosen to protect the royal family in the event of an external attack. The City Palace of Udaipur is a property of the royal family of Mewar. Many scholars believe that the construction of the palace began in the 16th century. The Fateh Prakash Palace and the Shiva Niwas Palace are now luxurious heritage hotels where visitors can get a feel of the bygone times. The try to the complex is from The Tripolia Gate.
