• The park’s name was changed to Shaheed Veer Kunwar Singh Azadi Park after India gained independence. It commemorates Kunwar Singh, a notable leader during the Indian Rebellion of 1857.

• Hardinge Park covers an area of 22 acres and is somewhat triangular.
