Vishnupad Mandir
The Vishnupad Mandir is an ancient Hindu temple, which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is situated in the city of Gaya in the state of Bihar. The temple is believed to be very ancient - it is said that Lord Rama visited the place with Goddess Sita. Its present structure was rebuilt by Queen Ahilya Bai Holkar by the side of the River Falgu in the year 1787. The temple is named after Lord Vishnu's footprints, called the 'Dharmasila', which are incised into a basalt block. The temple has been visited by numerous saints such as Ramanujacharya, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Madhvacharya, etc.
