Akshardham
Swaminarayan Akshardham complex is a Hindu temple located in New Delhi, the capital city of India. The chief deity worshipped in the temple is Lord Swaminarayan. It is one of the most visited temples and tourist attractions and is located on the banks of the Yamuna.
The word 'Akshardham' means 'The Abode of Lord Swaminarayan'. The temple was built by the ancient Indian science of Vaastushastra and Pancharatna Shastra. The temple is a blend of various Indian architectural styles and is built in Rajasthani Pink sandstone and Italian Carrara Marble. The temple has as many as 234 carved pillars! The other deities worshipped inside the temple are Sita Ram, Radha Krishna, Lakshminarayan, and Shiva-Parvati. The temple has a splendid showcase of Animatronics, including the world's smallest Animatronic robot. The temple compound is huge; the complex is spread across an area of eight thousand square meters! Not to be missed is the musical fountain show organized in the evening.
There is no entry fee for the temple complex. For the exhibition and the musical fountain show, you will need to pay a fee. No mobile phones, cameras, or electronic gadgets are allowed inside the complex.
