The Jal Mahal is a beautiful palace in the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan state, India. The word 'Jal Mahal' literally translates to 'Water Palace'. The Jal Mahal is located in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake in the Pink City. The palace can be reached via the Jaipur-Delhi highway NH-8 and is located 4 km from Jaipur city.

Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II got the Jal Mahal renovated in the 18th century. The Jal Mahal set amidst the waters of the Man Sagar lake in the backdrop of the Aravalis offers a breathtaking sight. Do not forget to bring your camera along- the Jal Mahal offers beautiful views to visitors at all times of the day!

The Jal Mahal is not open to visitors though one can obtain spectacular views of the palace and the surrounding lake from outside. There is no entry fee as such. The Jal Mahal can be seen during the day for the golden yellow of the palace looks best against the calm blue waters of the Man Sagar Lake. However, even after sunset, the palace is bathed in golden light and looks stunningly beautiful! A definite not to be missed view indeed!
